Prime Minister: Activities on designing railway through Armenia  commenced

ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's stance on unblocking communications in the region, including the construction of a corridor from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan, remains unchanged, as stated by the Armenian leader, in response  to a question from Lilit Minasyan, a member of parliament  from the ruling Civil Contract faction, during  a government hour in  the National Assembly on October 1,

According to the Prime Minister, the agreements reached in Washington  on August 9 should not be considered an agenda for the country's  authorities; they must be implemented as quickly as possible. The  problem lies in the strange interpretation of these documents. As an  example, he cited the term "Zangezur Corridor." Pashinyan showed the  signed agreement, which does not mention  such a corridor. "I have  signed this document with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and US  President Donald Trump. Does it contain such wording?" the Prime  Minister asked, recalling the initialing of the agreement on peace  and interstate relations, which also makes no mention of the  "Zangezur Corridor." Moreover, the parties have recognized each  other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Pashinyan noted that  this statement irritates Armenian society. Meanwhile, no other  wording can be used in Armenia.

The head of the Armenian government emphasized that the Armenian side  is ready to start work to unblock gas pipelines, water pipes, power  lines, and other infrastructure today. Currently, work has  begun on  designing the railway route. The Prime Minister added that Yerevan is  ready to simplify transportation, including customs procedures.
