
ArmInfo.Freight transportation volumes in Armenia in January- August 2025 increased by 1.1% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 10,620,600 tons, according to data from the RA Statistics Committee.
Of this volume, 78.4%, or 8,330,300 tons, were transported by road, a 0.2% decrease compared to the same period last year. A decline was also recorded in natural gas pipeline deliveries, down 1.8% to 1,218,200 tons.
Freight transportation by rail increased by 17.4% to 1,047,000 tons, while air freight increased by 5% to 25.1 thousand tons.
Passenger transportation during the reporting period decreased by 2.8%, reaching 151,155,900 passengers. In particular, rail passenger transportation declined by 9.5% to 347,100 passengers, while road passenger transportation decreased by 0.3% to 128,500,200 passengers.
Passenger transportation by electric transport decreased by 17.7% to 18,524,300 passengers. Only air passenger transportation showed positive dynamics, increasing by 4.6% year-on-year to 3,784,300 passengers.
As a result, freight turnover decreased by 2.5% year-on-year in January-August to 2,909.8 million tonne- km, while passenger traffic amounted to 3,013.1 million passenger-km, remaining unchanged year-on-year.
