20% y/y increase in grape harvest in Armenia

ArmInfo. This year's grape harvest exceeded last year's figure by 20%. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced this on his Facebook page.

Specifically, he stated that the tonnage of grapes harvested to date  has reached 192,000 tons, compared to 160,000 tons for the same  period last year.

While last year's total harvest was 164,000 tons, the ministry  estimates that this year will close with a harvest of 196,000-197,000  tons. "Overall, we still have about 3,000 tons of wine grapes to  harvest, and a small amount of table grapes," Papoyan noted. It  should be noted that, according to the RA Customs Service, in 2024,  Armenia exported 12.7 thousand tons of fresh and dried grapes, a  20.5% decrease compared to the previous year. The customs value  decreased by 14.3% to $10.9 million. Armenia exports over 83.5% of  its grapes to the Russian market.
