ArmInfo. The Government of the Republic of Armenia has officially appealed to the Government of the Russian Federation to change the duration of stay for truck drivers of Armenian transport companies' s stated by RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan in the National Assembly on October 21.
According to him, the Armenian side has proposed to their Russian colleagues to extend the established 90- day stay in the Russian Federation to 180 days. Initial impressions, as the Minister noted, have been positive. "Our Russian partners have agreed with our concerns and arguments, and, according to my information, this matter is already undergoing internal legislative procedures. Aimed at resolving the issue," Gevorg Papoyan said. He added that Armenian drivers can only be stuck in Russia for 90 days at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Therefore, the issue must be resolved.
