ArmInfo. Armenia's trade turnover with European Union countries reached $2.9 billion in January-September 2025, as stated by RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during budget hearings in the National Assembly on October 27.
According to him, compared to the same period last year, trade turnover increased by 5.7%, or $190 million. Of this total, 24% came from Armenian exports to European markets, and 76% from European imports to the domestic market. The 5.7% increase in trade turnover was primarily driven by a 5.4% increase in imports. These volumes, as Papoyan noted, cannot satisfy the Armenian side, therefore, an export promotion program is being implemented through customs duty compensation for finished goods exported from the country. This program has seen significant growth; however, given the current small volumes of finished goods exported, this growth does not reflect the true picture.
