ArmInfo. Currently, approximately 55,000 engineers and programmers are involved in Armenia's technology sector. This was stated by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry, during discussions in the National Assembly committees on October 28.
According to him, increasing the number of specialists in artificial intelligence is currently one of the ministry's priorities.
Several months ago, the ministry, in partnership with Amazon Web Services and the French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI, launched a virtual artificial intelligence institute. A program application process has already been developed, and the ministry is developing a range of tools, from a resource to a marketplace, for this program. Overall, as the minister noted, issues related to artificial intelligence are prioritized in virtually all programs for 2026.
