
ArmInfo.In the first half of 2025, Armenia saw a slowdown in the decline of aluminum foil exports, with a year-on-year decline decreasing from 22.8% to 8.7%, totaling 9.2 thousand tons. Meanwhile, the customs value of exported foil increased by 29.3% year- on-year (compared to a 36% decline the previous year), amounting to $40.8 million, according to data from the RA Customs Service.
The main export destinations for foil were Germany (64.5%), the Netherlands (18%), Poland (10%), Russia (4.1%), and France (1.7%). Other countries that received foil included the Czech Republic, Italy, Georgia, Belarus, and the UAE.
The annual growth rate of foil imported into Armenia improved, rising from a 7% decline to a 28% increase, reaching 1,100 tons in the first half of 2025, with a 50% increase in customs value to $6.1 million. Foil was imported primarily from Greece (68%), Russia (13.2%), China (9%), Italy, and the UAE (3.4% each), with the remaining volumes coming from Iran, Ukraine, France, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, and Turkey. A very small amount (up to 1 ton) was imported from Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Thailand, the Netherlands, the USA, and the UK. According to the RA Statistics Committee, Armenia produced 10,218,100 tons of aluminum foil in the first half of 2025, with an annual growth rate of 3.6%.
It is worth noting that the Armenal plant is the only exporter of aluminum foil in Armenia.
