
ArmInfo. Natural gas imports to Armenia increased by 4.5% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, reaching 1,418,940.1 cubic meters, with a 4.2% increase in customs value to $244.5 million. Liquefied gas supplies also saw a significant increase, rising by 29.4% year-on-year to 128,040.7 tons, with a 43.6% increase in customs value to $42.7 million, according to data from the RA Customs Service. All natural gas came from Russia (79.5%) and Kazakhstan (20.5%). Specifically, 1,127,447 cubic meters of natural gas were supplied from Russia to Armenia, showing a slight year-on-year decrease in volume of 0.1% and a similar decrease in customs value to $195.9 million. From Kazakhstan, 291,493.1 cubic meters were supplied, marking a 26.7% increase from the previous year, with a 26.3% increase in customs value to $48.6 million.
According to the source, liquefied gas comes primarily from Russia (99.1%), or over 126,871.9 tons in the first half of 2025, with a volume increase of 30.6% and a customs value increase of 45.6% (to $42.1 million). Liquefied natural gas deliveries from Iran decreased by 66% to 553.6 tons (0.4%), with a 66.7% decrease in customs value to $233,900. Iraqi liquefied natural gas accounted for 0.1%, or 218.1 tons, a 68.3% increase from the previous year, while its customs value increased 2.8 times to $146,000. Much smaller volumes of liquefied natural gas arrived in Armenia from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus, Turkey, China, Germany, and Poland.
