ArmInfo. "I can't recall a builder demonstrating a construction speed that we haven't witnessed previously. I hope we don't jinx it." Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a government session on November 6. The meeting approved the allocation of approximately 8.5 billion drams to finance construction work under Tranche 4 of the North-South Transport Corridor investment program.
It should be noted that the contractor for the 32-kilometer Kajaran-Agarak section (Tranche 4), leading from Agarak and upward, is a joint venture of Iranian companies: Abad Rahan Pars International Group and Tunnel Sadd Ariana. According to Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (MTAI) Armen Simonyan, approximately 8.4 billion drams will be allocated through the reallocation of funds under the Roads Department programs for the construction of the 32-kilometer Kajaran-Agarak section of the road under Tranche 4. Additionally, 22 million drams will be allocated for the assessment of adjacent communities as part of the land acquisition and resettlement project for the northern section of the Sisian-Kajaran road. 8.7 million drams will be needed for a safety assessment of the Bargushat tunnel construction project on the same section.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan further commented that the project is "crystallizing" before his eyes and is becoming tangible. "The pace of construction is so impressive that it is supported by feedback from various places," he added.
The Yerevan-Gyumri section of the road is also taking shape and will be de facto completed this year, with full readiness, including road infrastructure, anticipated by spring.
