AI to change economy, public and everyday life beyond recognition in  coming years - Hakob Arshakyan 

ArmInfo.  Hakob Arshakyan, the RA NA Vice President and the Head of the Executive Body of the Science and Technology Development Council of the Republic of Armenia  adjunct to the RA Prime Minister, participated and delivered a  welcoming speech at the 10th Internet Governance Forum.

Hakob Arshakyan touched upon the key importance of the internet and  new technologies in the changing world in the context of the  development of Armenia. The NA Vice President spoke about the  influence of the internet all over the world and then in our country  back in the 1990s, noting that the internet has changed the economy,  life and lifestyle of the society and created new opportunities.

Referring to new development opportunities, the development of  artificial intelligence, robotics and the aerospace industry, he  particularly noted: "We are facing a situation where artificial  intelligence is changing entire industrial chains. It is already  present in our lives, but its presence, in my opinion, will change  the economy, public life and everyday life beyond recognition in the  coming years." The NA Vice President spoke about the impacts of  innovation in the sector at different times and the attitude towards  them.

According to the NA Deputy Speaker, both industry and public life  will undergo radical changes over the years thanks to the use of  innovative technologies. In this context, he expressed the opinion  that in the near future, humanoid robots armed with artificial  intelligence will free humanity from a number of everyday worries,  giving them the opportunity to spend more time on education, science,  creative work, favourite hobbies, and raising children.

"The issues of sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of  countries will be connected with the fact to what extent are the  countries able to use new technologies, in particular, artificial  intelligence, robotics and aerospace technologies, for their  development and for the benefit of their societies, and to what  extent will this educational environment be accessible to people and  to what extent will people make use of it?" Hakob Arshakyan stated.

In this regard, he emphasized the importance of the work of the  Executive Body of the Science and Technology Development Council of  the Republic of Armenia adjunct to the RA Prime Minister, as a result  of its decision the Armenian Innovation Foundation was established  and operates. He noted that it is a body responsible for creating  long-term state programs, the NA Vice Speaker detailed the work  carried out within its framework, aimed at developing the sector.

The opportunities and challenges of internet resilience, digital  policy, broadband internet access and technological progress were  discussed at the 10th Armenian Internet Governance Forum held on  November 6.
