ArmInfo. Technological digitalization in Armenia is developing steadily and has already reached the institutional level. Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Hovhannes Khachatryan told reporters during the opening of the International PLUS Forum FinnoWay Armenia 2025.
According to Khachatryan, while the digital transformation process may not always be swift, the country is undergoing a comprehensive shift in interaction architecture, identification systems, and cybersecurity standards. "This is a major undertaking, which largely remains unnoticed by businesses and users. However, I hope that accelerated digital transformation will yield tangible results that directly enhance people's quality of life," the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank said. When asked about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the pace of digitalization, he pointed out the widespread use of AI tools by companies and private users. Additionally, he stressed the importance of adhering to security requirements when integrating AI into mission-critical structures.
"It's one thing to use AI for tasks that don't require data transfer, and quite another to work with confidential information containing customer data. Here, security and regulatory issues become especially pressing. However, it's important to not only exercise caution but also to recognize the enormous opportunities that AI offers, especially in the context of enhanced productivity, in both government and the financial sectors," Khachatryan said.
It should be noted that the FinnoWay Armenia 2025 International PLUS Forum is organized with the support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, in collaboration with the Russian company PLUS Group and the Armenian Card National Payment System as co-organizers.
The FinnoWay Armenia 2025 PLUS Forum is dedicated to key issues of digitalization, interaction between government agencies, the financial sector, retail, and the IT and telecom industries.
