ArmInfo. The national payment system Armenian Card (ArCa) will soon start issuing co-branded cards with the international payment systems MasterCard and Union Pay. ArCa Technical Director Aghasi Vardanyan shared this information during the session titled "ArCa as a Center of Attraction" at the International PLUS Forum FinnoWay Armenia 2025.
He told that a memorandum had been signed on the topic, enabling the further active development of the national payment system's card market. "We still understand that cards that are only valid on the local market are less attractive than international ones. We need to comply with standards and allow our customers to use the same cards abroad," Vardanyan clarified.
According to the technical director of Armenian Card, the company is working towards enhancing its capabilities to meet modern standards and customer expectations, despite not yet being on par with of international payment systems.
