
ArmInfo. In the first half of 2025, Armenia imported over 99% of its wheat, corn, and wheat flour from Russia, according to data from the RA Customs Service.
Russia remains the main supplier of grains to the Armenian market. Specifically, 133,349.4 tons of wheat were imported to Armenia during the reporting period, a 0.3% year-on-year decrease. Out of this volume, 99.9% was Russian wheat, with very small quantities coming from Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria. The customs value of imported wheat increased by 32.2% year-on-year to $32.6 million.
The tonnage of corn imported into Armenia increased by 4.5% year-on-year to 32,948.5 tons, with a customs value increase of 13.6% to $8.2 million. Russian corn accounted for 99.6% of this volume, with smaller amounts from Ukraine, France, Hungary, Austria, Chile, Turkey, and Thailand.
In the first half of 2025, 21,796.1 tons of wheat flour were imported into the country, showing a 22.3% increase compared to the previous years. The customs value also rose by 37.6% to $5.9 million. Russia was the main supplier of wheat flour, accounting for 99.5% of the imports. The remaining volume came from Italy, France, and Belarus.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, production of fine wheat-rye flour in Armenia increased by 6.4% year-on-year during the reporting period, reaching 71,700 tons.
