
ArmInfo. In the first half of 2025, Armenia reduced its exports of butter and dairy spreads by 11.9% year-on-year to 212.7 tons. Meanwhile, the customs value increased by 13.7% year-on-year, reaching $1.6 million. This is evidenced by data from the RA Customs Service, according to which the lion's share of these products was shipped to the Russian Federation (65.2%), with smaller amounts going to Belarus (33%), the United States (1.7%), and Georgia.
Imports of butter and dairy spread increased by 35.8% year-on-year to 3.2 thousand tons. The customs value totaled $23.6 million, an increase of 59.7% year-on-year. Butter and dairy spreads are primarily imported to Armenia from New Zealand (32.6%), Iran (23.6%), India (12.4%), Finland (14.7%), France (5.9%), and Ukraine (3.5%), with smaller volumes coming from Australia, Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Poland, and Russia.
According to the source, in the first half of 2025, Armenia imported 12.9 thousand tons of sunflower oil, turmeric oil, and bamboo seed oil, a decrease of 3% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the customs value increased by 29.5% to $16.2 million. The lion's share of these imports came from the Russian market (99.5%), with very small amounts coming from the Italian, Cypriot, and Belarusian markets, and less than 1 ton coming from the Lithuanian and Ukrainian markets. During the reporting period, Armenia exported 4.7 tons of olive oil, a year-on-year increase (compared to 57 kg in the first half of 2024). The customs value increased significantly, reaching $71,200. Russia again accounted for the entire volume.
Olive oil imports increased by 91.3%, reaching 173.5 tons, with a customs value increase of 1.6%, totaling $893,200. These products were primarily imported from Spain (41.1%), Italy (26.5%), and Syria (16.7%). Significantly smaller imports came from Greece and Russia (6.3% and 5.8%, respectively), as well as from Turkey, the UAE, Lebanon, Portugal, Serbia, and France. It is worth noting that, according to the RA Statistics Committee, the price of sunflower oil increased by 17.5% year-on-year in June, while butter increased by 14%. In the first half of 2025, Armenia produced 1,442.8 tons of butter and dairy spread, with an annual growth rate of only 1.7%.
