ArmInfo.  Firebird has received a U.S.  license to export cloud and infrastructure  technologies to Armenia. This was announced on his Facebook page by  RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who also  posted the company's statement.

The statement notes, in particular, that Firebird, an American  company developing cloud and artificial intelligence (AI)  infrastructure technologies, has received an export license from the  U.S. government and is announcing its first investment of $500  million in Armenia. "This is the initial phase of a multi-billion  dollar mega-project aimed at introducing high-performance AI  supercomputing infrastructure in the region. This achievement opens a  new chapter in US-Armenia collaboration in the development of  advanced technologies, innovation, and the AI sector. As NVIDIA  previously announced at the GTC conference in Paris, Firebird will  create one of the most advanced AI clusters in the region, powered by  high-performance PowerEdge AI servers from Dell Technologies and  NVIDIA Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs). These GPUs will  enable research institutes, technology companies, and enterprises to  scale modern AI models. The launch of the first phase of the project  is scheduled for the first half of 2026, positioning Armenia as a  regional hub for AI innovation across various industries, with a  focus on life sciences, robotics, and space technologies," the  statement noted.

It also emphasizes that future Firebird centers will provide robust  and high-performance AI infrastructure built on American technology  chains and standards, serving emerging markets. "Our goal is to make  AI accessible to everyone for the common good. We are building a  technological foundation that will enable engineers, researchers, and  creative people around the world to work with world-class tools,"  said Firebird co-founder and CEO Razmik Hovakimyan. He added that  these investments are fundamental to shaping Armenia's digital and AI  future.

Firebird co-founder Alexander Yesayan added: "We are laying the  foundation for a modern digital and AI ecosystem in Armenia that can  leverage local talent and attract global innovation. This is an  important step toward Armenia's technological future."

Alexander Yesayan emphasized that these efforts reflect a strong  public-private partnership between the United States and Armenia and  are an example of cooperation based on mutual trust and technological  advancement. This partnership was made possible by the support of the  Armenian government under the personal leadership of Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the  active participation of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and  the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry. The joint efforts of the  U.S. Department of State, the U.S.  Embassy in Armenia, the Bureau of  Industry and Security (BIS), the Armenian Ambassador to the United  States, and Enterprise Armenia further strengthened this partnership.

This development follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding  on an Innovative Bilateral Partnership in Artificial Intelligence and  Semiconductors between the U.S. and Armenian governments in  Washington, D.C., on August 8, 2025, further deepening cooperation in  technology, innovation, and secure trade. The Firebird initiative  reflects the shared commitment of both countries to fostering  innovation, strengthening economic resilience and advancing  technological progress.
