ArmInfo. Armenia's economy is projected to close 2025 with a GDP growth of 5.2%, slowing to 4.9% in 2026 and 4.7% in 2027, as stated by WB Senior Economist Vicky Chemutai on the sidelines of an event marking the release of the World Bank's (WB) first report on "Armenia's Economic Pulse: Fairer Markets for Inclusive Growth."
She noted that this forecast is based on data available up to August 25 of this year. She recalled that Armenia's economic growth rate slowed after 2022, from 12.6% to 5.6% in the first half of 2025. The expert noted that this trend was driven by the weakening of temporary factors that had previously influenced growth.
"In the years, we studied for the report, growth was driven primarily by private consumption and investment. However, the slowdown was due to a significant decline in exports. During this period, there was a 50% decline in exports and a 30% decline in imports," Chemutai clarified.
