ArmInfo. Armenia is acceding to the agreement on training personnel for CIS customs services. At its November 26 meeting, the Economic Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved the draft agreement submitted for ratification.
According to Rafael Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the document establishes the procedure for training personnel for the customs services of CIS member states through higher education programs and additional professional programs. The agreement, signed last year, is an important document aimed at increasing the efficiency and uniformity of training for CIS customs officers. The countries hosting these programs will be responsible for organizational issues related to their funding, while travel expenses will be covered by the sending country.
Ratification of the agreement will facilitate cooperation between the customs services of the participating countries in the area of educational activities.
The agreement will develop and harmonize uniform standards and requirements for curricula that meet the current realities of customs practice, as well as facilitate the exchange of experience through internships, seminars, and conferences to share best practices and familiarize students with new technologies and work methods. Joint educational programs will be conducted at national universities to train highly qualified specialists.
