ArmInfo. Armenia-Kazakhstan relations have reached the level of strategic partnership. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a briefing, commenting on the outcomes of his official visit to Kazakhstan.
In this regard, he mentioned the possibility of establishing a railway connection between the countries, which would enhance the prospects for bilateral cooperation. Additionally, the Prime Minister announced that a business delegation from Armenia will soon visit Kazakhstan to explore opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation.
"Why am I talking about economic cooperation? Because political relations have been and remain at a high level. Otherwise, we would not have reached the level of strategic partnership," the head of government noted. He emphasized that bilateral relations are currently developing dynamically and showing promise. In this context, he expressed Kazakhstan's interest in the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" project. Logistical constraints, according to Pashinyan, have prevented the potential from being fully or significantly realized. "But I am confident that these political processes will yield concrete economic results," he concluded.
It should be noted that, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan decreased by 10.2% in January-September 2025, amounting to 59.4 million. Specifically, exports decreased by 8% to 41.6 million, while imports declined by 15.1% to 17.8 million.
