It should be noted that, as part of the Armenian Ministry of Health's initiative, the implementation of the universal health insurance system in Armenia will be carried out in phases over a period of three years. The first stage will begin on January 1, 2026, with the goal of having the entire population of Armenia covered by the system by 2028. The state-provided system will gradually transition to compulsory health insurance. Until then, individuals who have been using the state-provided system will be able to continue doing so.
