ArmInfo. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan held a meeting with representatives of insurance companies, who presented their comments, recommendations,  and concerns related to the implementation of universal health  insurance.

According to the President's office, the discussions focused on   system stability, problem solving  and the need for active  involvement of the professional community.

"During the meeting, sector representatives presented their comments,  suggestions, and concerns regarding the implementation of universal  health insurance. Issues in the insurance sector, opportunities for  their effective resolution, and the necessary steps to ensure the  sustainable implementation of the system were addressed.  The  President highlighted the importance of the professional community's  participation and stressed  the significance of  universal health  insurance for enhancing the country's social and medical policies,"  the statement reads.

It should be noted that, as part of the Armenian Ministry of Health's  initiative, the implementation of the universal health insurance  system in Armenia will be carried out in phases over a period of  three years. The first stage will begin on January 1, 2026, with the  goal of having the entire population of Armenia covered by the system  by 2028. The state-provided system will gradually transition to  compulsory health insurance.  Until then, individuals who have been  using the state-provided system will be able to continue doing so.
