Oil prices are rising

ArmInfo. Oil prices gained momentum on Friday evening, supported by concerns about supply stability.

The price of March Brent futures on the London ICE Futures Exchange was $63.24 per barrel as of 6:15 PM Moscow time, up $1.25 (2.02%) from the previous close.

WTI futures for February on the New York Mercantile Exchange had risen by $1.31 (2.27%) to $59.07 per barrel.

On Thursday, Brent contracts rose 3.4%, while WTI contracts rose 3.2%.

Uncertainty about future supplies from Venezuela and Iran, as well as the prospect of stricter sanctions against buyers of Russian oil, are fueling the rise in oil prices.
