The price of March Brent futures on the London ICE Futures Exchange was $63.24 per barrel as of 6:15 PM Moscow time, up $1.25 (2.02%) from the previous close.
WTI futures for February on the New York Mercantile Exchange had risen by $1.31 (2.27%) to $59.07 per barrel.
On Thursday, Brent contracts rose 3.4%, while WTI contracts rose 3.2%.
Uncertainty about future supplies from Venezuela and Iran, as well as the prospect of stricter sanctions against buyers of Russian oil, are fueling the rise in oil prices.
