 Cargo transportation in Armenia increased by 2.5% in the first 11  months of 2025, while passenger transportation decreased by 2.3%

ArmInfo. In Armenia, cargo transportation volumes increased by 2.5% in January-November 2025 (from a 10.2% decline the previous year), reaching 15,654  thousand tons. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic  of Armenia, the increase was driven by growth in cargo transportation  across all modes of transport, with the exception of gas supplies via  the main pipeline. Specifically, rail freight traffic increased by  23.5% year-on-year to 1,640.8 thousand tons, road freight traffic by  0.9% to 12,311.9 thousand tons, and air freight traffic by 1.9% to  37.8 thousand tons.  1,663.5 thousand tons of natural gas were  delivered via the main pipeline, showing a 2.1% year-on-year decline.

Passenger traffic, on the other hand, deteriorated year-on-year,  going from an 18.1% increase to a 2.3% decline, reaching 218,677.5  thousand passengers. Rail passenger traffic decreased by 9.8% to  473.5 thousand, people, automobile passenger traffic decreased by  0.1% to 185,931.5 thousand people, and passenger transportation by  electric transport increased by 16.1% year-on-year to 26,962.8  thousand people. Meanwhile, air passenger traffic increased by 6.5%  year-on-year to 5,309.7 thousand people. As a result, cargo turnover  decreased by 2.2% year-on-year to 4,104.9 million tonne-km, while  passenger traffic only increased by 0.3% to 4,261.6 million  passenger-km.
