
ArmInfo. In Armenia, trade turnover reached almost 6 trillion drams ($15.4 billion) during the first 11 months, slowing from 18% year-on-year to 3%. This slowdown is primarily attributed to a slowdown in wholesale and retail trade. According to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in November 2025 alone, trade turnover in Armenia increased by 5.9% to 641.3 billion drams (over $1.6 billion).
Wholesale trade turnover in January-November slowed from 25.1% to 2.2% year-on-year, reaching 3.9 trillion drams. Month-on-month, wholesale turnover increased by 5% to 417 billion drams. Retail turnover in January-November amounted to 1.8 trillion drams, slowing from 8.2% to 4.1% year-on-year. Over the month, retail turnover increased by 5% to 193 billion drams.
According to statistics, stores (including supermarkets) account for the largest share of retail turnover, accounting for 84.1% or 1.5 trillion drams (with an annual growth of 4.1%), other retail outlets - 10.7% or 193.7 billion AMD (with an annual growth of 6.4%), followed by consumer goods markets - 3.2% or 58.7 billion (with an annual decline of 4.1%), stalls and kiosks - 1.2% or 21.6 billion (with an annual growth of 3.2%), and agricultural markets - 0.8% or 15.2 billion (with an annual growth of 0.5%).
The volume of car purchases and sales in January-November 2025 amounted to 245.1 billion AMD, with the annual dynamics changing from a 6.5% decline to 8.3% growth. In November alone, automobile trade volume increased by 26.7% to 31.3 billion drams. Wholesale trade now dominates Armenia's overall trade turnover, accounting for 65.4%, followed by retail trade at 30.5%. The remaining 4.1% comes from automobile purchases and sales.
It should be noted that the average exchange rate of the dram to the US dollar in November 2025 was AMD 381.99/ $1, and in January-November 2025, it was AMD 387.51/ $1.
