Armenia, Iraq discuss  energy cooperation 

ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Narek Apitonyan  received the Charge d'Affaires of Iraq to the  Republic of Armenia, Muhammad Al-Sheikhli.

According to the ministry's press service, during the meeting, the  parties discussed several issues related to bilateral cooperation in  the energy sector and its development prospects. Narek Apitonyan  emphasized the significance of strengthening relations between  Armenia and Iraq, expressing hope that the dynamics of bilateral  cooperation in the energy sector will improve and new opportunities  will emerge.

It is worth noting that Armenia imports liquefied natural gas from  Iraq. Specifically, according to data from the RA Customs Service, in  the first half of 2025, Armenia imported 218.1 tons of liquefied gas,  a 68.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the  customs value increased 2.8-fold, reaching $146,000. Iraqi gas  accounts for only 0.1% of the total supply.
