On January 20, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved an updated list of standards and research methods for the EAEU technical regulation "On the Safety of Natural Fuel Gas Prepared for Transportation and/or Use." According to the EEC press service, the update is essential for maintaining a current evidence base for technical regulations, specifically aligning with the ongoing program to develop unified interstate standards.
The updated version includes 35 interstate standards, 10 of which are new; three national standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and three national standards of the Russian Federation. A number of documents no longer relevant to industry have been excluded from the list. The adopted decision enters into force 30 calendar days after the date of its official publication and applies to legal relations arising from November 22, 2025, the date when the main amendments to the said technical regulations first took effect.
