Armenia`s President  meets with  head of Iraqi Kurdistan on WEF  sidelines  

ArmInfo.On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Iraqi Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

According to the press service of the Armenian president, during his  meeting with Barzani, Khachaturyan discussed the potential for  developing cooperation between Armenia and Iraqi Kurdistan in   political, economic, and other spheres. The President and Prime  Minister emphasized the need to strengthen ties and expand practical  cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Khachaturyan and Barzani also addressed the  regional situation and current development, emphasizing the  importance of strengthening peace, stability, and security. In this  context, they discussed the Armenian government's Crossroads of Peace  initiative and, in the context of developing regional communications,  reviewed the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity  (TRIPP) project. The parties noted that the implementation of such  initiatives is in the interests of all countries in the region and is  a means of realizing existing opportunities in the economic,  transport, and logistics sectors.

The President also discussed regional initiatives with the President  of Finland. The parties noted that they promote greater connectivity  and serve the interests of both countries in the region and the  broader international community.

During their discussions, Khachaturyan and Stubb also emphasized the  importance of developing bilateral cooperation, particularly within  the EU.  They noted the significance of cooperation with Finland  within the framework agreement between Armenia and the Nordic and  Baltic countries (NB8), viewing it as an effective platform for  political dialogue and expanded sectoral cooperation.
