
ArmInfo. On January 20, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the Vellar Group chocolate and confectionery factory under construction.
According to the ministry's press service, accompanied by company management, the minister toured the factory's construction site, familiarizing himself with the installed equipment, production facilities, and production lines.
Approximately ?120 million has already been invested under the program, with an additional ?25 million planned for the near future.
The facility covers approximately 25 hectares and is equipped with modern equipment, primarily imported from leading German and Danish companies. The factory is scheduled to be fully operational within three years, increasing production volume to 200 tons per day and employing up to 2,000 people.
The plan is to produce a wide range of confectionery products, including chocolate and caramel candies, protein and fruit bars, chocolate-coated cookies and wafers, as well as Armenian dried fruits in high-quality chocolate.
Vellar Group took advantage of government support, including a customs duty exemption and an infrastructure investment program.
