ArmInfo. Armenia notes the importance of all comments related to the TRIPP project, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government session on January 21.
According to him, all these comments are being studied, and tests are being developed based on the results. This is an additional signal for the Armenian side to assess the events in Washington, where the corresponding document was signed on August 8. The Prime Minister noted that the Armenian side also had concerns, but after the signing of the framework statement by the Armenian and US foreign ministers, all fears related to Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity were dispelled.
Pashinyan emphasized that the TRIPP project itself is, first and foremost, an investment program. Politics is gradually being pushed to the background when discussing its details. However, the discussion isn't limited to the 42-kilometer railway section. Recently, Armenian and Azerbaijani specialists conducted research near the village of Yeraskh to explore the feasibility of using the Yeraskh-Sadarak route to develop this section of the railway. This section can be considered in the context of the Horadiz-Meghri-Nakhichevan- Sadarak-Akhurik-Turkish border railway. The possibility of using the Yeraskh-Meghri, Ordubad-Horadiz, and Yeraskh-Julfa routes has also not been ruled out.
Pashinyan noted that, in parallel with the railway, the possibility of laying energy lines, including gas pipelines, along the TRIPP route is being considered. The Prime Ministe pointed out the possibility of integrating the energy systems of Armenia and Azerbaijan as an example. In this case, the parties would have opportunities for import and export.
