
ArmInfo. The international tourism exhibition FITUR- 2026 has opened in Madrid. The Armenian Tourism Committee, along with several tourism companies, is participating in the exhibition with a national pavilion aimed at positioning the country as an attractive, yet under-discovered destination for global travelers.
Lusine Gevorgyan, Head of the Tourism Committee, reported a high level of interest in Armenia's adventure tourism offerings during the opening day. As part of the exhibition, Gevorgyan held high-level meetings with Rosario Sanchez, Head of Spain's State Tourism Agency, and Sos Avetisyan, Armenia's Ambassador to Spain. Discussions focused on several important working issues. Gevorgyan extended an official invitation to her Spanish counterpart to attend an upcoming technical workshop in Armenia.
FITUR is one of the world's most significant tourism events, running from January 21 to 26. This year's exhibition is expected to draw over 9,000 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors, including industry experts and government officials exploring new market trends and innovative travel solutions.
