
ArmInfo. Prices of key precious metals reached new all-time highs earlier in Friday's trading amid heightened geopolitical risks and a weakening US dollar.
Spot silver rose to a record $99.34 per ounce during the session, while gold reached $4,967.03 per ounce.
Gold has risen 14% year-to-date, while silver has risen 37%.
"Silver hasn't traditionally been considered a safe haven, but its role may be changing," noted Nitesh Shah of WisdomTree.
Meanwhile, spot platinum rose to a record $2,684 per ounce. The precious metal has risen 30% in the first three weeks of 2026.
