ArmInfo. On February 24, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and GTB Holdings signed a memorandum of cooperation.
GTB Holdings is a strategic partner of the Contemporary Music Festival, which kicked off on February 21. The memorandum was signed by Sergey Smbatyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and Grigor Ter-Ghazaryan, Founder and Director of GTB Holdings.
With the memorandum, the Symphony Orchestra and GTB Holdings join forces to popularize the Armenian classical and contemporary compositional school, its traditions, preserve its heritage, and expand its recognition among Armenian and foreign audiences. The memorandum of cooperation is aimed at digitizing, internationally popularizing, and preserving the heritage of the Armenian compositional school.
The orchestra's artistic director and chief conductor Sergey Smbatyan emphasizes the importance of business support for the cultural sphere, especially for a festival that popularizes contemporary music, around which it is difficult to unite like-minded partners: "The contemporary music festival is a complex direction that we don't talk about much; it does not present easily understandable and popular music. However, we are proud that the Symphony Orchestra has been successfully implementing this festival for many years, and we are doubly proud that we have such a strategic partner as GTB Holdings. This cooperation will allow us to set greater goals and move forward."
