
ArmInfo. As of the end of 2025, 19.4% of the total employed in Armenia, or 159,324 people, earn wages exceeding 500,000 drams. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan shared this information on his Facebook page.
He noted that at the end of 2017, the number of such jobs was 40,836, or 7.6%. The number of officially registered jobs increased by 54%, or 288,500, compared to the same year, totaling 822,700. He also pointed out the country's unemployment rate, which stood at 11.8% in Q3 2025, compared to 16.4% in Q3 2017.
It should be noted that, according to the RA Statistical Committee, the country's employment rate has decreased slightly year-on-year, from 52.2% in Q3 2024 to 52.1% in Q3 2025 (compared to 51.2% in Q2 2025). The employed population totaled 1.21 million people, a 0.1% decrease from the previous year, but a 1.6% increase over the quarter. At the same time, the number of unemployed decreased by 13.1% over the year, reaching 161,300 people. Over the quarter, the number of unemployed decreased by 3%.
