ArmInfo. Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, met with a delegation led by Valerio Lachizzi, Secretary General of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with the International Automobile Federation in promoting the development of motorsport in Armenia. He noted that the construction of a motorsport track in Armenia with the Federation's support will give a new impetus to the development of this sport.
Valerio Lachizzi highlighted Armenia's potential and specific achievements in the development of a cross- country racing car as part of the "Accessible Crosscar" project, implemented by the FIA. The project aims to create conditions for motorsports without major financial investment, using local production and minimal resources. Armenia was the latest country to join the FIA project, with an FIA consultant spending approximately 10 days in Armenia to assess the high professional level of the team formed in Armenia. In just a few months, local specialists established local production and formed a small but fully-fledged ecosystem, receiving positive reviews from international experts.
According to Valerio Lachizzi, this progress will allow Armenia to host its first regional cross-country series and pave the way for other prestigious championships in the future. During the meeting, it was noted that the Automobile Federation of Armenia, as an official member of the FIA, will support the implementation of the programs. The parties also discussed various matters related to future cooperation.
