
ArmInfo.Nineteen Armenian winemaking companies will participate in a single national pavilion at Foodex Japan, Asia's largest food and beverage business platform, according to the press service of the Vine and Wine Foundation (VWFA).
According to the source, the wine market in Japan has grown by approximately 110% over the past 10 years. Over the past 40 years, consumption has increased sixfold. More than 50% of consumers drink wine, with 76.7% choosing red wine.
Foodex Japan will bring together approximately 3,000 companies from over 80 countries, attract approximately 85,000 visitors, and host approximately 1,400 B2B meetings over four days. The participation of Armenian winemakers was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the Armenian Viticulture and Winemaking Foundation. The exhibition will take place in March of this year.
It is worth noting that, according to the RA Customs Service, in the first half of 2025, Armenia exported 2,100 liters of wine to the Japanese market (compared to 6 liters in the first half of 2024), with a customs value of $13,300.
