ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities have no problems with bona fide business entities; problems arise with those who try to present wishful thinking as reality. This was stated by RA Minister of Economy Gevork Papoyan from the podium of the National Assembly on March 3.
The minister noted that the country has well-known cognac factories that have been purchasing grapes for years, producing cognac and cognac spirit from them. The state has been and will continue to support such companies. However, there are also businesses that haven't purchased a single gram of grapes, but planned to export millions of liters of cognac spirit.
The minister noted that the state has serious problems with these companies. "Whose spirit are they exporting if they haven't secured the required amount of raw materials? And why should we be with them? We'll be with those who buy grapes from farmers. As for everyone else, that's no longer the ministry's problem. With their actions, they're damaging the image of Armenian cognac and the Armenian state," noted Gevork Papoyan.
