
ArmInfo. Armenia has received two awards at the PATWA (Pacific Travel Publishers Association) International Tourism Awards.
According to the press service of the Tourism Committee, our country was recognized in the "Destination of the Year" category in the "Natural Attractions" category. In addition, Lusine Gevorgyan, Head of the Tourism Committee of Armenia, received the "Excellence in Governance" award.
The awards ceremony took place during the ITB Berlin 2026 international tourism exhibition.
"These awards highlight Armenia's natural beauty, as well as its ongoing efforts to develop and promote sustainable tourism in the
country," the source stated.
PATWA is an international non-profit organization promoting sustainable development in the tourism, hospitality, transport, and travel industries worldwide. It brings together journalists, writers, editors, publishers, communications specialists, and travel industry experts.
The organization was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in London, with operations spanning over 100 countries.
PATWA's core activities include: developing and supporting international travel journalism; promoting sustainable development in tourism, hospitality, and transport services; facilitating cooperation between media, tourism organizations, and government agencies; hosting international forums, conferences, and professional meetings for travel industry representatives; and presenting the annual PATWA International Travel Awards.
