
ArmInfo. On the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Armenia's Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Ruben Simonyan met with Philippe Roger, Corporate Vice President of Public Sector at Microsoft.
The parties discussed the dynamics of their current interactions and explored opportunities to deepen cooperation and expand their partnership in areas of mutual interest. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the prospects for applying artificial intelligence technologies and cloud solutions.
The parties noted the importance of education and lifelong learning as key factors in stimulating innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development. In this context, they discussed the possibility of implementing professional retraining programs and joint educational initiatives aimed at developing human capital.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue discussions and explore specific formats and priority areas for strengthening cooperation aimed at ensuring technological progress in Armenia.
As a reminder, Microsoft is one of the world's largest technology corporations, specializing in software development, cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms. Today, Microsoft operates in more than 190 countries and collaborates with governments, educational institutions, and companies worldwide.
The company opened a regional office in Armenia in 2006. One of its key projects was the creation of the Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia. The center's main objectives include: training IT specialists and conducting certification courses; supporting startups and technology companies; conducting educational programs and training; and facilitating the creation of innovative products and services.
