
ArmInfo.Armenia and Albania see the importance of expanding cooperation in the tourism sector through joint programs, mutual participation in leading events, and the development of business ties.
According to the press service of the Tourism Committee, this was announced during a meeting between Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Armenian Tourism Committee, and Lira Pipaj, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Albanian Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports; Sokol Ismaili, Director General of Tourism Policy and Development; and Elkana Himci, Director of Tourism Promotion.
The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism, presenting tourism statistics and the latest industry trends. Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of the tourism sector, the use of artificial intelligence tools, and the exchange of experience. They also explored opportunities for collaboration within major international events, exhibitions, festivals, and MICE events. The parties noted that, despite the visa-free regime between the countries, no direct flights have been launched.
The meeting took place during the ITB Berlin 2026 international tourism exhibition.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, only 255 tourists from Albania visited Armenia in 2025, a 4.9% decrease from the 2024 figure.
