Armenia and Albania exploring new ways to jointly promote tourism

ArmInfo.Armenia and Albania see the importance of expanding cooperation in the tourism sector  through joint programs, mutual participation in leading events, and  the development of business ties.

According to the press service of the Tourism Committee, this was announced during a meeting between  Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Armenian Tourism Committee, and  Lira Pipaj, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Albanian Ministry of  Tourism, Culture, and Sports; Sokol Ismaili, Director General of  Tourism Policy and Development; and Elkana Himci, Director of Tourism  Promotion.

The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in tourism,  presenting tourism statistics and the latest industry trends.  Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of the tourism  sector, the use of artificial intelligence tools, and the exchange of  experience. They also explored opportunities for collaboration within  major international events, exhibitions, festivals, and MICE events.  The parties noted that, despite the visa-free regime between the  countries, no direct flights have been launched.

The meeting took place during the ITB Berlin 2026 international  tourism exhibition.

According to the RA Statistics Committee, only 255 tourists from  Albania visited Armenia in 2025, a 4.9% decrease from the 2024  figure.
