
ArmInfo.On March 5, RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation.
According to the government press service, the progress of ongoing projects in Armenia under cooperation with Rosatom and their next steps were discussed during the meeting. The parties also exchanged views on energy security, mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, and opportunities for developing energy trade in the region.
Recall, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) will be shut down for five months of scheduled maintenance in May, 2026. During this period, the main work on the second lifespan extension program for Unit 2 of the ANPP will be carried out jointly with Rosatom Service. Additionally, $65 million in savings from the first extension program will be used to address this issue.
