ArmInfo.Starting in 2026, all citizens and residents of the Republic of Armenia (except minors), including pensioners, are required to file income declarations under the Universal Declaration of Income of Individuals system as stated by Rafael Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), at a press conference on March 10.
He recalled that the system's implementation began in 2023. The process was organized in three stages, expanding the range of individuals required to file declarations each year. Rafael Gevorgyan emphasized that the system aims to foster a "culture of tax compliance" rather than simply targeting the shadow economy. In 2025 alone, this tool generated an additional 4 billion AMD for the state budget.
In 2026, the deadline for filing income tax returns for 2025 is set from March 2 to November 1, 2026. This year, pensioners are also included in the list of taxpayers. This group of citizens, who receive no income other than pensions and benefits, will also be exempt from completing and filing an income tax return. After the deadline, the draft tax return generated by the State Revenue Committee's electronic system will be considered accepted. However, the deputy head of the State Revenue Committee emphasized that, again, if someone wants to use social loans, they will still have to log into the system and certify the document with an electronic signature.
