Armenia and EDB join forces for public-private partnership  growth

ArmInfo. Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan received a delegation led by Nikolay  Podguzov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Finance, the  parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing  cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the EDB, emphasizing  the importance of strengthening this collaboration. It was noted that  in 2023-2025, the Bank implemented 24 successful projects in Armenia,   significantly stimulating the development of various sectors,  particularly economic activity in the private sector. At the  conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the  Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia and the Eurasian  Development Bank (EDB) on "Provision of Technical Assistance," aimed  at strengthening the public-private partnership (PPP) sector  management system of government agencies and enhancing the  professional skills of staff in line with international best  practices.

The program envisages  assessing gaps in the institutional  environment, developing optimal sector management and financial  structure models, as well as targeted training and international APMG  certification. The agreement also  provides for the technical and  infrastructural upgrade of Armenia's PPP Center, making it a one-stop  shop for efficient investment processes. The parties expressed their  willingness to continue effective cooperation and implement new  initiatives and joint projects.
