Ambassador: Russia has retained its role as Armenia`s main trade,  economic, and investment partner

ArmInfo. Russia has retained its role as Armenia's main trade, economic, and investment partner.  This was stated in the welcoming address of Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin to the participants of the International Business Mission in the Food and Consumer Goods Sector to Armenia.

"I am pleased to welcome the opening of the International Business  Mission in the Food and Consumer Goods Sector, organized by the  Russian Trade Mission in Armenia and the Russian Export Center. I am  pleased that this important and popular event was supported by the  Armenian side, in particular through the Armenian Ministry of  Economy. As the results of last year showed, Russia has retained its  role as Armenia's main trade, economic, and investment partner,"  Kopyrkin noted, as quoted by the Russian Embassy in Armenia. He  emphasized that Russian capital is widely represented in key sectors  of the Republic's economy: mining, energy, metallurgy, transport and  logistics, banking, and information and communications technology.

"The leading positions of Russian economic operators are not only a  legacy of our shared Soviet history, but also the result of the  tireless work of our countries' business communities and the rapidly  expanding business interactions, despite existing logistical  difficulties and geopolitical turbulence," the Russian diplomat  added.

He also highlighted the significant contribution of Armenia's 11-year  membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), whose mechanisms  have literally spurred bilateral trade and economic ties and  industrial cooperation. "Significant potential for deepening  bilateral economic cooperation lies in interregional interaction, the  development of online commerce based on marketplaces, and so on. I  invite all participants of today's event to actively utilize the  assistance of the Russian Trade Mission, representatives of the  Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture of  Russia, as well as the Russian Export Center," he noted.

On March 11-12, as part of the "Made in Russia" program, a business  mission of Russian companies producing food, cosmetics, and household  chemicals is taking place in Yerevan, organized by the Russian Export  Center. Seventeen Russian companies are presenting their products  during the mission. Industry specialists will have the opportunity to  familiarize themselves with the product range and evaluate its  quality, conduct B2B negotiations, and discuss cooperation and supply  terms to Armenia.
