ArmInfo. At its meeting on March 13, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a decision establishing unified labeling rules for certain types of packaged confectionery products, as noted in a statement issued y the EEC. According to the document, while the rules are unified, individual member states will decide their own specific launch dates. However, they must notify the EEC at least six months before making the labeling mandatory.
"The expansion of the number of product categories labeled demonstrates the development of the Union's common labeling system, allowing consumers to verify the authenticity of products and also increasing the competitiveness of bona fide market participants by reducing illegal trafficking," EEC Minister of Trade Andrei Slepnev noted. He emphasized that labeling will be carried out according to unified rules, adhering to the provisions of the basic technological organizational model of the system for labeling goods with identification means in the EAEU, approved by a decision of the EEC Council in 2019. This will ensure mutual recognition of codes, eliminating the necessity to relabel goods when they move within the Union.
