April gold futures on the Comex exchange fell approximately 1.3% to $4,995 per ounce.

This week, major central banks, including the Federal Reserve, will hold meetings. Analysts and market participants do not expect the Fed to change its key interest rate, with attention focused on Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's press conference for signals on the future trajectory of monetary policy.

Brent crude oil prices remain above $100 per barrel, and investors fear this will lead to higher consumer price growth and delay the Fed's rate cut.

Silver futures fell 4.4% to $77,775 per ounce.
