ArmInfo. Kristine Galechyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, received a delegation led by Lia Gutierrez, Director General of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of priority road construction programs, including construction work on the Sisian-Kajaran section of the North-South Transport Corridor, projects to restore and modernize the M6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian border interstate highway, and programs to restore the Dilijan and Pushkin tunnels, which are strategically important for developing the country's transport links and servicing growing traffic flows. Kristine Galechyan presented research and programs aimed at improving tunnel and road safety, as well as climate change adaptation, emphasizing the importance of technical support from partners and engaging experts.
The participants noted that the implementation of these programs will contribute to the modernization of Armenia's transport infrastructure, economic development, and the expansion of regional communications.
It is worth noting that the Asian Development Bank is one of Armenia's largest and most strategic partners. Cooperation began in 2005, and since then the Bank has invested over $2.5 billion in the country. ADB acts not only as a lender but also as a "knowledge bank," providing professional advice and technical support for ongoing reforms.
