ArmInfo. Taxi drivers operating through electronic taxi platforms will become beneficiaries of the compulsory health insurance system starting January 1, 2027. The decision to amend the law "On Universal Health Insurance" will be discussed at an extraordinary session of the RA National Assembly on April 7.
As Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Lena Nanushyan noted in her speech, it is envisaged that, starting January 1, 2027, project participants will also be able to include interconnected persons ( family members and dependents).
The Deputy Minister emphasized that, despite the mandatory nature of the universal health insurance system, the Ministry of Health would nevertheless like to see a shift in public perception. "We want the citizens to view this system as a desirable benefit rather than just a legal obligation," she stated. According to the amendments the deadline for individual entrepreneurs to make their annual medical insurance premium payments will be pushed back from April 20 to June 20.
