
ArmInfo.During a meeting with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan discussed the potential for expanding economic cooperation between the countries, taking into account the positive dynamics of trade growth.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Finance, during the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the significance of enhancing friendly and mutually beneficial ties between the countries as one of the priorities outlined in the Armenian Government's program (for 2021-2026 - ed.).
The ministry also reported that the Finance Ministries of both countries are currently planning to sign a memorandum of cooperation in public financial management to enhance the efficiency of financial systems. The agreement also includes provisions for sharing knowledge and experience in budgeting, internal audit, and digital transformation within the sector.
It's worth noting that the trade turnover between Armenia and India has been growing rapidly annually, exceeding $400 million. This growth is accompanied by an increase in cultural and humanitarian ties, including labor migration from India. Defense cooperation between the countries is also actively developing.
