ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Kristine Galechyan received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) to Armenia, Khalil Shirgolami.
According to the ministry's press service, the parties discussed ongoing infrastructure development projects, specifically the progress of construction of the Kajaran-Agarak road section.
Kristine Galechyan noted that thanks to the efforts and active work of the Iranian company, the work will be completed on schedule, namely in 2027. It should be noted that the construction of the 32-kilometer section of the Kajaran-Agarak road in Armenia's Syunik Province is being carried out by an Iranian consortium, specifically the Abad Rahan Pars International Group and Tunnel Sadd Ariana company. The project is a key part of the North-South Corridor, ensuring rapid construction.
At the end of March, during a government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan announced that 45% of the work had already been completed. Specifically, drilling of two tunnels has been completed, and active work is underway on 14 of the 15 bridges.
This section of the road is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2027 or early 2028, depending on weather conditions.
