ArmInfo. Team Telecom Armenia has completely upgraded its 2G network in Armenia, becoming the first operator in the region to carry out such a historic transformation in the telecommunications sector.
According to the company's press service, as a result of this large-scale program, more than 1,000 Team Telecom Armenia base stations now operate exclusively with modern technology, providing subscribers with more reliable, secure, and high-speed mobile communications and internet access.
At the same time, to ensure uninterrupted service, the company offered subscribers who had been using exclusively 2G-enabled phones for three months prior to the project launch the opportunity to upgrade their devices. To date, over 20,000 subscribers have taken advantage of this offer, and this option remains available. Following the replacement of the second-generation network, which had been in service for over 30 years, the freed-up frequencies, infrastructure, equipment, and resources are now being used to expand the coverage of modern 4G and 5G networks throughout Armenia.

This key change has not only modernized the mobile communications infrastructure but also enhanced the digital security of services," noted Team Telecom Armenia CEO Hayk Yesayan.
According to the source, the transition to new technologies not only allows subscribers to simultaneously use both voice and internet services but also significantly improves network energy efficiency and digital security, ensuring more modern, accessible, and stable communications throughout Armenia.
