Forbes: Samvel Karapetyan`s assets worth $4.1bln

ArmInfo. According to the American magazine Forbes, the net worth of Russian businessman of Armenian descent Samvel Karapetyan increased by $900 million in a  year, reaching $4.1 billion. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the  political council of the Strong Armenia party, wrote about this on  his Facebook page, publishing a corresponding Forbes article.

"Do you know someone who managed to increase his fortune by almost a  billion dollars while in prison?  Imagine how much he will improve  the standard of living in the country when he becomes Prime Minister  of Armenia? It's time for change!" Karapetyan added. Forbes reports  that Samvel Karapetyan's net worth has grown from $3.2 billion in  2025 to $4.1 billion in 2026. He is also the owner of Tashir Holding,  a commercial real estate developer with a turnover of $2.8 billion.  Tashir, a longtime Gazprom subcontractor, also holds government  contracts for street lighting in Moscow. Karapetyan's son, Sarkis,  and daughter, Tatevik, are top managers at Tashir. Tatevik is  responsible for developing a chain of movie theaters.  Karapetyan has  built shopping malls, acquired an electric power company, and one of  the largest power plants in Armenia.

As a reminder, the businessman was arrested in June 2025 after making  statements in defense of the Armenian Church. Last December, Samvel  Karapetyan's pretrial detention was changed to house arrest.   Earlier, the RA Investigative Committee announced the completion of  the criminal investigation into the businessman, which was opened on  charges of tax evasion, money laundering, and large-scale  embezzlement. He is also accused of inciting a coup d'etat.
