
ArmInfo.A regular meeting of the Management Board of the North-South Road Corridor Reconstruction and Improvement Programs, the M-6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi- Georgian Border Interstate Highway, the Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program, and the Northern Corridor Modernization Program was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, issues related to the construction of a 7- kilometer Kajaran Tunnel and the reconstruction of the approximately 4-kilometer access road to the tunnel were discussed during the meeting. The Board reviewed and officially approved the evaluation results for the construction tender bids. In addition to the construction bids, the Board evaluated technical proposals for the international tender regarding technical supervision services for the Kajaran project. Following the review, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan instructed the Road Department Fund to proceed to the final stage of the procurement process. This phase will involve: the opening and evaluation of financial bids; the final selection and announcement of the winning contractor. Closing the meeting, Khachatryan provided specific observations regarding the project's timeline and transparency and issued relevant directives.
Recall, the Kajaran-Agarak section of the North-South Highway is being built with funding from the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. The construction is being carried out by an Iranian consortium, specifically Abad Rahan Pars International Group and Tunnel Sadd Ariana. The project is a key part of the North-South Corridor, ensuring rapid construction.
